Today calls for a celebration, a giveaway, i can't give the details of it, but want it to be big as i plan to club it with 300+ followers as well, so stay tuned , its time to grab some goodies !

Anniversary Outfits !

I guess the outfits i did manage to sew for my wedding anniversary do deserve a separate post, hence here it is

Kurta for my hubby : We forgot to take a solo snap of him  in this kurta !

Plain simple kurta in 50% cotton, 50% polyester ;
Chinese collar
French seams

Happy that it did fit him well. I would personally prefer the shoulder to be 1/2 inch less but he like it when they droop a bit, since he is the one is going to wear it, i made it suit his comfort zone.


Summer Dress for Darling Daughter.

Can we wear something new when our darling isn't ? so here it was a new dress for Adithi

Highlight of this dress is the braided straps (Remember the pink knit ruffle skirt - BTW it is still on sale - any takers?) using pink knit and dress fabric bias straps about 1/4 inch wide.

She sported 2 looks, one with a t-shirt worn underneath as Athibeedu was quite cool ! The other is the version she will wearing in sweltering Chennai !

Leopard Print + Flower Motifs Dress for self

I love animal prints and had been wanting to make an outfit in this one, but wasn't quite sure as to how to break the print up to make me look not so lean ! (Remember the same pink knit ruffle skirt on which i had ruffles using a shimmery fabric, i used the remaining shimmer fabric here), Shimmery fabric - bias strips strategically placed across the bodice till waist line by embracing my curves !

I like pleats and added one at the hemline; shortened the original hemline and added pleated portion to get the normal height.

Wanted to pair it with lace leggings, since it was too cold in Athibeedu, decided to pair with slim fit denim.

7th Wedding Anniversary !

Today my hubby dearest and me are celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary in Shakileshpur (off bangalore).

Can't believe how time flies away. 7 years its been since we have been married.

I am grateful to god to have given me such a loving, caring, understanding husband who lets me be myself and accepts me as I am. Though i don't tell him often as to how much i love him post marriage (pre-marriage was like a whole another story of saying I Love You at the drop of the hat), as we have more responsibilities and people to take care of now, than we were as lovey dovey love birds. I make it a point that this day, i express to him, what he means to me, how he has changed my life for better and simply thank god for having given him to me.

I managed to sew a Kurta for him and a dress for my Daughter and an outfit for self. wanted to sew one more outfit for him, but didn't manage time to shop for fabrics suited for men. Had this kurta fabric and hence managed to sew one. I am giving him hand kerchiefs as birthday present on his birthday which is tomorrow (i know how stupid of me), but that's what i could think of the most he is in need of ! I had ordered a tie, but unfortunately it has not reached me yet (the bane of online shopping!)

Will compensate by sewing some pyjamas and formal shirts for him in near future. ok hubby dearest, take my word for it; i know you will

Best Anniversary Gift ever; Handmade drawing by our Darling Daughter

with the help of my sister, signatures of artists (DD & sister) were added as also our names and has been duly framed. Thanks DD & Sister. God Bless.

Saree Blouse for Amma - wedding anniversary!

4th July was my parent's wedding anniversary and made this saree blouse for my mom!

The saree was gifted to her by a friend.

Apron for my dear friend!

Yesterday was wedding anniversary for my dear friend. Here's wishing her happy married life; since her spouse is abroad and they both couldn't be together, decided to meet her to cheer her up. Had bought this Rajasthani Kada online @ 99labels.com and it arrived right on time to be able to gift her.

Though one gift was ready it did not have my personal touch to it, hence i decided to sew something up.
Apron was the immediate thing i could think of and wrapped it up in under 1.5 hours and was having fingers crossed as i was worried if it would fit her? guess what? it fit her to the 'T'

She did not want her face to appear, but i could not delete the smile of this snap, hence cropped it till there!

My DD was having a whale of a time solving my friend's son's puzzles and insisted on me taking snaps of completed ones. She loves solving puzzles, i wonder if there is any olympiad kind of thing for solving puzzles, if there is one please let me know i would like my daughter to give it a go, as she is really good at solving puzzles, she is 4.5 years and solves so far upto 8+ puzzles!

Gifts galore !

Hubby gifted me a diamond pendant in white gold chain. As it is I don't have a big craze for high end jewelery, but this gift is dear to me, and this being my first diamond will always have a special place in my jewel closet, as it is a gift from my hubby dearest and i gifted him few shirts and a tie and cufflink

Happy Anniversary dear hubby!

Today is my 6th wedding anniversary. so here is a special little note for my hubby dearest..... just stuck my dumb mind, i can use my blog to convey my wishes to him and thereby proclaim my love for him to the entire world (ahem... ok to atleast people who follow my blog...thanks for reading!)

But since our anniversary's here,
just the excuse to say something that's
