Deepavali wishes

Dear Readers,

Wishing you health and prosperity and joy ushered in by the Festival of Lights. Had been preoccupied with Deepavali delicacies, remember this is the first time, without my Inlaws and parents, so far had been staying away from kitchen during mission Deepavali, but this time had to take the risk and it was in the end worth taking! Tried posting yesterday but something went wrong while uploading the snap. So delayed wish it is , but true and sincere one at that. Take care and enjoy.

Happy Woman's Day & Happy Holi too!

What a coincidence the festival of colors and a day to celebrate women falls on the day!
 I for one am no fan of having a specific day to mark 'Women's day'per say! but never mind getting wished and reminded of the fact that, being a woman is special, no man can pull it off, the sheer blessing of being a woman.

All  you lovely ladies out there, May all your dreams come true, and to all those gentlemen out there, do your bit in fulfilling the dreams of the woman in your life!

Wish you a safe organic Holi too !

On the sewing front, made these too summer trousers using left over fabrics , getting back into sewing mode, but am finding it bit tough to get into full swing, as Adithi comes back from school at 11 Am (half a day!)

Iniya Pongal Nalvaazhthukkal (Happy Pongal!)

Pongal is a Harvest Festival celebrated in South India. The same festival is referred by different names all through India.

Did not manage much sewing hours the whole of this week, hence for the first time ever, Adithi is wearing a readymade outfit, which has been altered on a festival day! Had got this for new year and had altered the same, somehow due to all the programs like fancy dress and dances during the New Year Celebrations, she never managed to wear this, so i had reserved this as additional dress for pongal. Had planned to sew a Paavadai Sattai, which never materialized during this past hectic week.

Happy Birthday Dear Amma!

Today is my mom's b'day. Wish her health and happiness on this day and all through her life. Actually wanted to type a lot as to how am i feeling on her b'day but somehow words fail me so i guess that's it for the post ..and yes pics of course

Apron for my dear friend!

Yesterday was wedding anniversary for my dear friend. Here's wishing her happy married life; since her spouse is abroad and they both couldn't be together, decided to meet her to cheer her up. Had bought this Rajasthani Kada online @ 99labels.com and it arrived right on time to be able to gift her.

Though one gift was ready it did not have my personal touch to it, hence i decided to sew something up.
Apron was the immediate thing i could think of and wrapped it up in under 1.5 hours and was having fingers crossed as i was worried if it would fit her? guess what? it fit her to the 'T'

She did not want her face to appear, but i could not delete the smile of this snap, hence cropped it till there!

My DD was having a whale of a time solving my friend's son's puzzles and insisted on me taking snaps of completed ones. She loves solving puzzles, i wonder if there is any olympiad kind of thing for solving puzzles, if there is one please let me know i would like my daughter to give it a go, as she is really good at solving puzzles, she is 4.5 years and solves so far upto 8+ puzzles!
