Burdastyle Sewing Handbook Coat - Garment Sewing Challenge Entry

My entry for the Garment Sewing Challenge is - Burdastyle Sewing Handbook Coat

Garment Sewing Challenge: May 2012

I had worn this during my vacation in Kashmir and it was perfect for the weather there.

Fabric: Cotton , lined with Velvet.

This was my first attempt at making a coat and i had tough time finishing the lining part of the vent. I hope to do better next time.

I chose size  36 from the pattern size chart since it was lined and would add up more bulk. Lengthened the sleeves by adding cuffs at the end.

Used wood buttons and coated them with silver fabric paint.

For the belt, i could not find the perfect buckle and had to make do with 2 D rings!

will post pics of the inside of the coat (velvet lining part soon !)
